WELCOME BACK - SPRING 2008

  • Remus is ready for Spring 2008 Account creation. Remember to accept Academic Integrity!

  • Java Presentations - Make sure to check out the LCSR Java Presentations for demos on using Java and Eclipse

  • HELP! - if you need help please use the CS help email address

  • REMUS NO LONGER ACCEPTS MAIL - The new mail policy that is consolidating email services for DCS means that only CS Majors can aquire mail accounts and they will no longer be on remus. IMAP will work until 10/1/2006 in order for you to move your files, but remus will no longer receive new email as of 8/1/2006. Majors who want a CS mail account should visit Dragon to create a mail account for the domain "cs.rutgers.edu".

  • NEW COMPUTER SCIENCE EMAIL POLICY - At LCSR we are consolidating our mail services.  Go see what changes are in store and how it affects you!

  • Make Your Brain BIGGER and spend some time at The History of Computing Project. Get the background and inside dirt on Computer Science history. If you don't learn about history you are doomed to repeat it so get with the program...
  • Academic Integrity Policy (January 17, 2006). If you suddenly can't log in (or read your mail), don't forget to connect to the academic integity policy site and acknowledge it.

  • IRC Bots (and reflectors, and clients, e.g. "psyBNC", "srelay") have no place on the undergraduate machines. Please do not run them. (This is known as the 'gentle warning' part. You know who you are.)
  • Rutgers Campus Status page will detail any closings that may or may not occur due to weather.
  • Exceed users: Ketan J. Patel has created a how-to for using Exceed to connect to the undergraduate suns. Give it a look!

  • Network problems? Check the Telecommunications division 'network status' page to see if it's already known (and hopefully being worked on :-).
  • USACS: Undergraduate Student Alliance of Computer Scientists -- check out their web page here.
  • Setting your java version
  • Spam-filtering, see our Spam page, and Don Watrous' how to ignore a user page.
  • Reminder: don't forget to protect your work so that others cannot cheat off of you. See "man chmod".
