The TRUE
BASIC programs for this semester,
due dates, and points assigned for each program are listed at the
bottom of this page. The programs are divided
according to the topics in Conversations with Jt on TRUE BASIC,
Second Edition,
and are assigned according
to your recitation section -- the column heading Chapter - Textbook
Page -
Program Number gives
you this specific information. Program
assignment page numbers are from the text Jt's Conversations on TRUE BASIC, Second
Edition: Becoming Acquainted with BASIC Through Windows.
If you are using an earlier edition of the book, page numbers will
differ from those listed here.
Note carefully the programs assigned to your
recitation section; you
will receive credit only for the programs assigned to your recitation
section.
Include REM statements at the
beginning of each program with the following: your name, section
number, TA name, chapter, program number, and the date the
program is due. Without these REM statements, your program will
be considered
improperly documented and two points deducted from your score.
Submit to Sakai
only the program LIST (TRUE BASIC
instructions) that you have written to solve the problem , using the
extension .tru after the file name. To
review opening and running TRUE
BASIC, click here: TRUE BASIC
How
To. Do not submit your program to Sakai until
you run it and correct errors
-- programs will not be
returned for debugging. Your TA will run the program code you
submit, grade the
program, and return comments in recitation.
Note: Save your program to eden, my.Rutgers
Briefcase, or USB secondary storage.
Programs submitted without a .tru
extension will not be graded. Do not download the Demo
edition of TRUE BASIC from truebasic.com; this program is for temporary
use only and will not allow you to save using .tru extension.
Accessing
and Printing TRUE BASIC Programs
TRUE BASIC is not available
for Mac
OS-X. Access TRUE BASIC from RUNet only on PC machines. From the
Windows
START icon, select: Programs, Class
Software, TRUE BASIC Bronze Edition, TB Bronze, and click New
in the Open File
window for a Source Code (Untitled) window.
Note:
Before you begin entering code, Name and Save your
program to eden. my.Rutgers Briefcase, or your USB storage device. As
you enter code in
TRUE BASIC, save often to avoid
losing your work.

* Note: The SPRING 2008 semester ends Monday, May 5; no work is accepted after this day and no grade discrepancies are considered after this day.
The Department of Computer Science
strictly
adheres to the Rutgers University Policy on Academic Integrity, as
described in the New Brunswick Undergraduate
Catalog. Students
enrolled in Department of Computer Science
courses are advised that
all allegations of academic dishonesty will be fully investigated and
that any evidence of
academic dishonesty will be reported to the Dean's Office for
appropriate action.
With regard to programming
assignments, students are advised it is a violation of academic
integrity to copy someone else's work
or to permit another person to copy your work. While you may
discuss
programing assignments with
other students at a general level, all coding, debugging, preparation,
refinement, and testing of
programs should be entirely your own work. Just as copying or
"collaborating" on an examination is
dishonest, turning in a program assignment which is a "clone" of
someone else's work is also dishonest.
