Details about the Computer Science Career Night event:
Career Night on Wednesday, November 18th, 7pm-9pm.
Come hear a panel of 4 former CS students talk about their experiences in industry. You get to ask them questions about anything to do with CS careers such as what makes a good resume, what kinds of things you learn in your courses are most useful in finding a good job, what new skills you are expected to learn to keep it, plus anything else you think you want to know.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided!

A link to the test driver (IntListDriver.java) was inadvertently omitted from Problem 2 of the Exam 2 practice assignment.
Due to the traffic problems tomorrow from the football game, Prof. Hari's office hours (4-5 pm) will be online instead of in his office.

Mon Nov 9

This Thursday, it will be very difficult to get to Busch campus due to the football game. Therefore, the Thursday evening lecture (6:40-8:00 pm, Hill 116) is cancelled. The Thursday evening recitations (5:30-6:25 pm and 8:10-9:05 pm) are also cancelled. Students in those recitations should, if at all possible, attend an earlier recitation this week. See the staff & schedule page (scroll down) for times and locations of recitations.
The driver given to you for Problem 1 of Assignment 7 (IntListDriver.java) has been updated to allow you to enter empty lists as input.

Assignment 6 has been posted and is due Mon Nov 2 at 5 pm.
Partial grade reports for Exam 1 were e-mailed out yesterday afternoon.
A number of students failed to submit their work properly during the exam, for a variety of reasons. It is neither possible nor reasonable to give additional makeup exams at this point. Therefore, to give such students an opportunity to recover, and to be fair to the rest of the class, the following policy will be applied to everyone:
If and only if your score on the second exam is higher than on the first, I will re-weight your exams to count the second exam more heavily and the first exam less heavily. Instead of being weighted at 20% of your grade each, the second exam would be weighted at 30% and the first at 10%.
The following policies will apply to Exam 2 and the Final Exam:
- The use of Eclipse will not be permitted.
- You are responsible for reading the exam instructions and being familiar with how to zip and submit your files. The instructions were posted on the class website in advance of Exam 1, and will be essentially identical for Exam 2 and the Final Exam.
- You are responsible for knowing your remus/handin password and having your account in working order. If you have forgotten your password or are unable to access your account, send e-mail to help@cs.rutgers.edu immediately.
- No further accommodations will be made for failure to submit your exam files properly. There will be no re-weighting or makeup exams offered for this situation.

The University has advised that pranksters may occasionally post fake notices on walls or doors, claiming that an exam or class has been cancelled. You are to disregard any such notices. If the schedule of any exam or class in this course needed to be altered, an announcement would appear on this website.
