01:198:211 is a sophomore level introduction to computer architecture.
The syllabus gives an overview of the course for the Spring 1999 semester.
The instructors for Spring 1999 are Miles Murdocca and Srimat Chakradhar.
If you are in the evening lecture, you can find information specific to your lecture at: http://www.cs.rutgers.edu/~chak/cs211.
We will be using online lecture notes that you can read in a Web browser that has the Adobe Acrobat plugin module. You can take a look at PRINCIPLES OF COMPUTER ARCHITECTURE (the Class Test Edition) which is in Adobe Acrobat format (click on the link above, and you'll find instructions on how to download any helper applications you might need to read it). You can also buy a hard copy at the Busch Copy Store for $33.80. The Busch Copy Store is located in the bottom floor of the Busch Campus Center, near the fast food restaurants. This is a full-featured textbook that is slated for publication by Addison-Wesley Longman in Spring 1999.
Go to the CGI based Spring 99 class newsgroup. You do not need an account on a Rutgers machine to access the class newsgroup.
