• Mon, August 11, check syllabus for study problems discussed in class and XML, XSD and XSLT files. NOTE, there will be NO XML on the exam.
• Mon, August 11: statistics on course grades
  1. midterm: average=71, median=72
  2. parsing project: average=53, median=78
  3. homework average: average=82, median=87.6
  4. overall: average = 49, median=51
  Computing a curve before the final is impossible. If everyone gets 100% on the final then no curve would be assigned so it depends on overall performance on the exam.
• Sun, August 10: fixed error on slides 14 and 15 of final review. size of a row is high_c - low_c +1, and size of a column is high_r - low_r + 1.
• Wed, July 30: homework 5 due Monday before class
• Tue, July 29: project deadline moved to Monday before class
• Fri, July 25: some of the sample outputs in the programming assignment were incorrect. The grammar rule as stated in the project is:

  EXPR -> TERM ADD_OP EXPR

  The incorrect output for that rule was:

  [expr [term [term ...]] [add_op ...] [expr ...]

  The project is updated to include the correct output. More details on the project page.
• Wed, July 23: homework 4 posted. Due Monday before lecture.
• Wed, July 23: updated logic programming slides on syllabus and included min.pl Prolog code
• updated python programming assignment. The examples now use varname (defined in list of tokens) instead of 'variable'. Note, all examples use lower case.
• download swi-prolog for your personal machine
• see page 1 of lecture notes for details of earning points on midterm exam as discussed on Monday
• updated resources page to include pointer tutorial mentioned in class. Note pointers will not be explicitly covered on the exam
