  • (12/20) Project 2 and final exam scores are posted. Many people didn't even try projects 2 and 3 :(.
    Even if you did OK on the final exam, if you didn't even *try* projects 2 and 3 you might get a bad grade. On the other, hand, if you made an honest attempt, we will be merciful :) even if your router didn't erform well against the autograder program.

  • (12/16) Remember to BRING ID for the final.
  • (12/15) IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PROJECT 3: Make sure to call the setSeed() method on the SecureRandom object when you generate the keys (line 28 in the sample code). If you not, different runs of the program will hand different key lengths to the keyserver. Different key lengths from different IP addresses appear to break the keyserver.

  • (12/11) Prof. Martin will hold extra office hours in Hill 250 Thursday, 2:00PM to 4:00PM to help groups with Project 3
  • (12/11) Anyone who needs a make-up for the Final Exam must send email to Prof. Martin by Friday, 12/14/2001. No exceptions.
  • (12/11) Students will be allowed a 1 page, double sided cheat sheet for the final exam for sections 1-5. No calculators or other electronic devices will be allowed.

  • (11/18) FINAL EXAMS: Sections 1,2: Tuesday, Dec. 18th, 8AM-11AM.
    Sections 4,5: Wednesday, Dec. 19th, 8AM-11AM.
  • (11/18) Project #2 deadline is extended 2 days to Nov. 28th. Also, triggered updates and link up/link down messages have been moved to project #3.
  • (11/7) Prof. Martin will not have office hours on Friday. Office hours are moved to Monday 2-4PM.
  • (11/7) the 2nd mid-term for sections 4 and 5 has been moved to Wednesday, 11/14. The mid-term for Sections 1 and 2 is scheduled for Tuesday, Novemeber 13th.
  • (11/7) The 2nd mid-term will cover (1) routing (flooding, backward learning, distance vector,link state, hierarchical routing, (2) security (transposition, substitution, and public/private key cryptography, digital signatures) and (3) congestion control (deadlock, choke packets, token bucket, leaky bucket and fair queuing).

  • (11/5) Project #2 is posted. It's due in 3 weeks, Novemeber 26th.
  • (11/5) Mid term #2 will Monday Nov. 12th for Section 04-05 and Tuesday Nov. 13 for Sections 01,02.

  • Scores are sorted by the last 4 digits of your student ID. If you got less than a 30 on the mid-term, consider yourself as having received a warning grade.
  • (10/9) The First mid-term Exam will be MONDAY 10/15 for sections 4 and 5 and
    TUESDAY 10/16 for sections 01 and 02.
    The mid-term will be in-class and cover everything up to and including Djikstra's Algorithm.

  • (10/3) You must run handin while logged into the the machine "cereal.rutgers.edu".

  • (9/27) Due to the missed recitation, the due date for Project 1 moved to Wed. 10/3, 4:00 PM.

  • (9/26) Make-up recitations for section 01 are scheduled for Thursday 9:00PM-10:00PM in Hill 120 and Sat. 11:30AM-12:30AM in Hill 120. Rooms are tentative-- check this page for changes.

  • The following accounts could not be built on the cereal machines. If you can't get into a cereal machines, Please try to build your remus account first, then send your TA mail asking for a cereal account. It is your responsibility to make sure you can log into a cereal machine before the project 1 deadline. If you have problems, we will work with the staff to resolve them.  
  • Special permission: You must have 105+ credits to get SP. 
  • Bring a printout of you transcript and your Student ID number to class. 

  • No Recitation the first week of classes.
