The Undergraduate account creation problem has been repaired, but with a catch. After creating your remus/undergrad account you can login to cumulus.rutgers.edu with your Eden password. Once there you can ssh to remus. This was necessary because Remus is a Solaris 8 server and is a bit long in the tooth. Cumulus is a newer LINUX server and works well with the new authentication scheme. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused.
Sesh's CS112 class can use this process to create remus accounts for handin usage. Remember to use your NetID and Eden password when you login to Handin, but you need this account for the process to work (it's a long story...)
If you have any hassles send mail to help@cs.rutgers.edu with "trouble creating remus account" in the subject.
Click here to create or reactivate your account on remus. Once you accept the Rutgers Acceptable Use Policy, that will give you a form asking for your name, student number, date of birth, and "Account type". For "Account type", select the class you are taking, such as "cs111-spring" for 111, "cs205-spring" for 205, and so on. If you are not registered in any section of that class, the system will not create the account.
If you try to build an account and it fails, please send mail to help@cs.rutgers.edu with your name, the course (and section, if you know it), and what error message you got when you tried to build the account. I'll build the account by hand (and see about getting your bug fixed.)
