CS Mentoring Program

We are starting up our mentor program for 2010-2011 again. Please check out how you can be a part of this program!

If you are taking CS111 or 112, or are interested in Computer Science:
When you sign up for the mentoring program, we pair you with an upperclassman that is majoring in CS. Their job is to help ease your transition into computer science by helping you out with any questions or concerns about Rutgers, as well as to provide information and insight about the CS department, majors, professors, classes, and events. Your level of interaction with your mentor is completely up to the two of you, but generally, you will meet at least two times a year and continue correspondence through email or messaging. If you are interested in becoming a mentee, please send an email to Amy with "CS Mentoring Program Mentee" as your subject.

If you are an upperclassman:
For anyone that is a declared CS major, you can help us out by mentoring to beginning CS students. Your basic duties will include meeting with your assigned mentee or mentees at least once a semester, as well as maintaining contact through email or messaging for any of their questions. We will provide more detailed information, as well as resources for you, once we have your email. To sign up as a mentor, send an email to Amy with "CS Mentoring Program Mentor" as your subject. Please include the number of mentees you feel you can handle (it is generally 1-3 mentees per mentor).
