Top Reasons For Not Updating This Website

... I'm lazy; I'm busy trying to write and record a few of my own songs; I have to study; I have friends; I have a life; I forget the chords after figuring them out cus I didn't write them down; It's tidious to write tabs; I have a slight feeling that somehow I'm doing something that is exploiting Dan's songs or ruining it by dissecting it and systematically breaking down aesthetic genius for mass consumption (capitalism!!!)....

Okay, no more stupid millenium comments, we made it, I'm still alive... nuff said. I've been listening to some of Dan's live songs which I downloaded from the net and I'm practically obsessesed with "I think I'll go to mars", "Lithuania", "Smart-n-Final"... "Party by myself" almost drove me to tears... it so shockingly explains how I feel sometimes... I can't believe it.... Dan Bern should be cloned so I can get his brain for a brain transplant, so I can write songs like that!!!! Check the tab section, I may have put up a few new tabs... (no promises)....

oh by the way... does dan bern remind you of charlie brown?

Okay... Well, it seems that I'm not dead yet, although the lack of updates to this site would suggest otherwise... I uploaded two new songs, if you look carefully in my tabs link. My friends and I figured out Hannibal and a few new ones like Smart n Final, Never Wrote a Song in Paris... so those will be up soon as well... please be patient... Yes, I'm a freakin turtle when it comes to updating my page...

I started playing guitar my freshmen year at college and continued partly due to the inspiration of DB's songs. I get a lot of mail from people who aren't so confident about they abilities as guitar players... My response is that anyone can get better and that it takes time. My friend just helped me buy a guitar and taught me a few chords, so for the most part I'm self taught I guess... and I got better from playing obsessively to the point where I might sorta figure out some songs on the radio if I hear it long enough. Do you wanna know what's the secret to DB's songs? The secret is feelings! You know even Dan messes up sometimes (especially playing live) but he's ALWAYS about 200% feelings... and you can always relate to his songs. So don't just sing his songs... use your own emotions derived from the situations that effected you, PERSONALIZE the songs, and EXPRESS them... !!!
